Independent Authorities

Independent Authorities, introduced in Italy to govern, control, coordinate and develop specific sectors, are distinguishable by their uniquely autonomous position with respect to traditional Administrative models. Each Authority has its own individual remit, some with regulating, sanctioning and para-judicial powers. The structure of these Bodies is in constant flux; hence we perpetually monitor the latest modifications to their organisation and functions.

Our considerable experience in complex proceedings before single Authorities has led us to deal with: CONSOB (the Italian Securities Exchange Commission); AGCM (the Antitrust Authority); the Electricity/Gas Authority; the Telecommunications Authority; and the Authority for the Vigilance on Public Contracts.

In addition, we consistently represent our clients in appealing Independent Authorities' decisions/sanctions before Administrative Judges.
